Meet Me In St. Louis
I watched "Meet Me In St. Louis" on Christmas Eve with my dad. I have seen it many times over the years. It is one of my favorite movies of all time and stars Judy Garland (not just from "The Wizard of Oz!"). The song "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" is originally from this movie. The movie was filmed during WWII(1944) and is set in 1904, the year of the World's Fair in St Louis. The film captures one year's events in the life of the Smith family. It was nominated for 4 Oscars at the 1945 Academy Awards.
Judy Garland was 21 when the film was shot and originally scoffed the idea of playing yet another teenage role. But, director Vincente Minnelli convinced her to play a role that she later considered her favorite. The two actually fell in love and were married after their meeting for this movie, together having a daughter, Liza [acress who went on to star in "Cabaret" (1972)]

i watched "the family stone" with my mom and dad yesterday and one of the characters was watching "meet me in st. louis" on christmas eve. i've only seen parts of "it's a wonderful life." i like jimmy stewart better in other movies. i feel like having a movie musical night where i could compile some great movies with great stars that people should know like gene kelly in "singin' in the rain" and yul brynner in "the king and i" and rex harrison & audry hepburn in "my fair lady" and of course judy garland in "meet me in st louis". i need to find something with fred estaire too... i just love him. he is in a nice movie with judy garland tha ti like, he is usually paired with ginger rodgers... so maybe i would want to find one of those. sorry, i was watching a tv special about old MGM musicals lol.

yeah, the kind and i is cool. yul brynner had a very mysterious past. he was, as far as n e 1 can tell, was mostly russian, but he claimed otherwise, claiming to be mongolian among other things. very interesting guy.
gene kelly is a really cool person. like... a real man who was also really passionate about dancing. he would have been a cool person to know.
i really like fred estaire but i can see him getting beat up on the playground, u know? gene kelly wasnt like that, he is like marlon brandoe or something, just really cool.
