More Crazy Catholics

^Since the real St Mary's is to ugly for my blog... I used a picture of another one.^
On Saturday I moved into Trout 013. The two freshman roommates were gone for the weekend but Sarah, a girl I knew through Corpus Christi, was there and helped out a lot.

On Sunday we went to St. Mary's for mass. I know, its evil, BUT... we went because there is a new priest sent by the bishop to clean things up out here. This didn't go over so well with the perminent members of the church. People shouted things during MASS... and there was a discussion held afterwards. A guy from the old regime was fired without notice and even though he had to go, the parishioners were (i feel) rightfully a bit outraged. He had been working with the parish for 25 years and had a/effected a lot of people there. But, rumor has it, the bishop wanted him gone (since he has a lot of crazy ideas and would have held the church back from getting better). The parishioners think that Fr. Will is sent by the bishop to get a certain quota of seminarians and don't like that he is changing everything and not taking them into consideration. Its a mess over here, but things have to get shaken up before they can settle down in the right place.

Band-ade

I am back at school now... but that isn't very fun so I'll talk about the past coupld days.

On Wednesday I helped Kevin move in to Abbot Hall MSU. Sad, I know. On Thursday I missed him so much I had to come visit. we went shopping and got some weird overpriced, organic lemonade. I got cranberry lemonade and Kevin got cactus lemonade. At Meijer we ran into Kevin's brother, Ryan, and his girlfriend Kara. Later that night the two of them, as well as their friends came over to Kevin's dorm. We played CatchPhrase (AKA the greatest game ever). After a couple games of that we hung out at Theo's (an all night diner).

>>> Greg and Ryan "NOT" making out.

On Friday Kevin and I went to a show that we had been wanting to go to for a while; held at a tea house in East Lansing. Kevin's brother's band played, "Clublight"... sort of. Well, the band consists of Corban (pictured left) and Ryan... but Ryan was tarde to the point of absence during their set. Although Corban was a bit uncomfortable playing without his partner, he did a great job. I especially enjoyed his guitar playin' skillz (lol). Check them out at www.myspace.com/clublightmusic

Next up on the bill (the main show) was Spitzer Space Telescope AKA Dan Macdonald of St Johns. It was his last show in Michigan before moving to Boston for college. He had a great confidence and presence on stage. Funny, easy-going, energetic, crazy, whimsical.
Dan is the coolest almost- famous guy ever. Everyone needs to check him out at www.myspace.com/spitzerspacetelescope I MEAN IT!
